The structure comes before decoration
The work begins with what the deck needs to communicate, not with choosing a visual style in isolation.
Pitch deck design for startups
You understand the business. Your audience still needs to grasp it quickly.
OnPoint turns outlines, rough slides and inconsistent presentations into clear, coherent and professionally designed pitch decks. We help organise the material, improve the narrative flow and build a visual system that makes the important points easier to find and follow.
The final deck is supplied in an editable, agreed working format so your team can continue using it after handover.
Communication and presentation-design support. Not investment advice or a promise of funding.
When a team has lived with a business for months or years, context that feels obvious internally can disappear from the presentation.
Important points compete for attention. Slides become dense. The same message appears three different ways. Charts inherit different styles, screenshots are difficult to read and each round of editing weakens the visual consistency.
A new template alone will not solve that.
The deck first needs a clear purpose, audience and sequence. Each slide needs to make one useful contribution to the overall argument, with enough information for the setting in which it will be used.
A presentation delivered live may need to support the founder’s spoken story. A deck sent ahead may need to make sense without anyone in the room. A customer or partner pitch may use some of the same material but lead to a different decision.
OnPoint helps clarify those communication requirements before redesigning the slides.
Presentation design for founders preparing to raise investment, from early-stage outlines to established decks that need a clearer structure and more consistent visual treatment.
We help communicate the proposition, evidence, commercial model, team and ask using the material you provide. You and your advisers remain responsible for the investment strategy, underlying claims and financial case.
Decks for strategic partners, prospective customers, distributors or commercial collaborators.
The structure and emphasis are shaped around what that particular audience needs to understand, rather than simply reusing an investor presentation unchanged.
Focused presentations for accelerator programmes, awards, demo days and pitch competitions.
The deck can be developed around an existing format, slide limit, submission requirement or fixed presentation time.
For founders who already have the right substance but are working with crowded slides, inconsistent layouts or a visual style that no longer represents the business.
We retain what is useful, identify where the communication is becoming difficult and redesign the presentation as a coherent whole.
Additional presentation-design capacity for agencies, consultants, startup advisers and fractional teams supporting a founder.
We can work from an agreed strategy and content structure, take responsibility for the visual development, or support a specific part of the deck-production process.
The scope can cover presentation design alone or include structural and communication support where the material needs more work.
We review the current presentation, outline, source notes and supporting material. Before redesign begins, we establish the purpose of the deck, the audience, the presentation setting and the role each section needs to play.
Explore Presentation DesignWe can propose a clearer sequence, identify repeated points and flag sections where the audience may be missing important context. This is communication support rather than investment advice. Any changes to business claims, financial information or strategic content remain subject to your approval.
Each slide is designed around the point it needs to communicate. Headlines, supporting copy, evidence and calls to action are organised so the audience can understand where to look and what matters.
Source data can be turned into clear, consistent charts and visual comparisons that sit naturally within the wider presentation. You provide and approve the underlying figures. We focus on making them legible and appropriately represented.
Processes, product journeys, commercial models and complex relationships can be translated into diagrams where a visual explanation will work better than another block of copy.
We create a consistent approach to type, colour, photography, illustration, icons and other graphic elements across the deck. The result should feel intentional without allowing the design to compete with the argument.
Where brand guidelines exist, the deck is designed to sit consistently within them. Where branding is limited, we can establish a suitable presentation system using the identity elements already available. A wider branding project is not required unless the business genuinely needs one.
The final presentation is built for continued use, not just for a single exported PDF. Reusable layouts can be included for common slide types so the team has a practical starting point for future additions.
Review points are agreed at the start and planned around the final presentation or submission date. Feedback is collected at useful stages so structural decisions are resolved before every slide has been taken through final production.
A strong pitch deck can make a business easier to understand and assess. It can improve the sequence, remove unnecessary friction and present the material more consistently.
It cannot turn weak evidence into strong evidence, validate a market claim, repair an unsound financial model or guarantee how an investor will respond.
You remain responsible for the proposition, numbers, assumptions, forecasts, legal statements and investment ask. OnPoint helps you communicate that material clearly and professionally.
That boundary keeps the work focused: substance from the people who know the business, supported by structure and design that help the audience follow it.
We establish what the presentation needs to achieve, who will see it and how it will be used.
We then agree whether the scope is design-only, structure and design, or a broader reusable presentation system.
We begin by mapping the presentation and identifying the point each section needs to make.
Where structural support is included, we propose a clearer sequence and flag duplicated, dense or incomplete areas for discussion. The business content is agreed before it is treated as final.
A representative group of slides is then designed to establish the visual approach. This might include an opening slide, proposition slide, data slide, diagram, team slide and closing slide.
Once the direction is agreed, the complete deck is developed using the same visual and communication system.
We complete the agreed revisions, check the deck and prepare the final files for their intended use.
The precise handover is agreed before production begins so there is no uncertainty about what your team will receive.
The deck does not need to be complete or tidy before the first conversation.
Send the existing deck, outline, notes, document or collection of slides you are working from.
Read the design brief checklistExplain what the presentation needs to help you achieve and what you want the audience to do next.
Tell us who will see it, what they are likely to know already and whether you will be presenting live or sending the deck for independent reading.
Provide the facts, claims, market information, financial data and source figures that need to appear. You remain responsible for approving their accuracy.
Share available logos, guidelines, fonts, colours, images and previous documents. Limited branding is not a barrier to beginning the work.
Provide the final deadline, any earlier review dates and the names of the people who will approve the presentation.
Tell us before sharing sensitive material if an NDA or particular handling arrangement needs to be discussed first.
The work begins with what the deck needs to communicate, not with choosing a visual style in isolation.
An outline, a rough working deck and an existing designed presentation are all valid starting points.
The deck is developed around whether it will be presented live, read independently, adapted internally or used in several settings.
The final presentation is intended to remain useful after the immediate pitch, with reusable layouts included where agreed.
You work directly with the people developing the presentation, with clear checkpoints and responsibility for the agreed work.
OnPoint is based in Manchester and works with founders, teams and agencies across the UK and further afield.
No. We can begin with an outline, rough collection of slides or an existing presentation. The amount of structural support required will be agreed after reviewing what already exists.
Yes. We can review the sequence, define the role of each section, identify repetition and suggest where the audience may need more context. This is presentation and communication support. It does not include deciding your fundraising strategy or inventing the underlying business case.
We can edit headings and on-slide copy for clarity, reduce repetition and help organise supplied material. More extensive copywriting, research or content development would need to be identified and agreed separately. Business claims, financial information and investment statements must be provided and approved by you.
Yes. Where the structure and content are already approved, the scope can focus on slide layouts, hierarchy, typography, imagery, charts and visual consistency. We will still flag anything that appears unclear rather than quietly designing around it.
Yes. We can follow established guidelines and create presentation layouts, charts and diagrams that feel consistent with the wider identity.
We can establish a suitable visual system for the presentation using the identity elements you already have. That can include a defined approach to typography, colour, imagery, charts and recurring layouts without turning the project into a complete rebrand.
PowerPoint can be used where it is the agreed working format for the project. The final deck can be handed over as an editable file rather than only as a fixed export. Any required software version, font restrictions, embedded media or compatibility requirements should be confirmed at the start.
Yes, where editable source-file delivery forms part of the agreed scope. The handover format and any reusable layouts will be defined before work begins.
Yes. We can redesign supplied charts, create consistent data visualisations and translate suitable information into diagrams. You will need to provide the source data and confirm that the final representation is factually correct.
There is no single slide count that suits every business, audience or presentation setting. We will consider the purpose, available time, complexity of the material and whether the deck needs to stand alone. The aim is not to hit an arbitrary number, but to ensure every retained slide has a useful role.
The schedule depends on the current state of the material, slide count, complexity, required diagrams and availability of the people approving it. Share the final deadline and any earlier presentation dates when enquiring. We will define a realistic schedule rather than advertise a turnaround that may not fit the work.
Tell us before sending confidential material if an NDA is required. The appropriate confidentiality and file-handling arrangements can then be discussed and agreed before the deck is shared.
Clear presentation design can make the business easier to understand, but it cannot guarantee investment. Funding decisions depend on the strength of the proposition, evidence, market, team, commercial model, terms and investor fit, among other factors.
Yes. We can work alongside an agency, adviser or internal team that has already established the strategy and content. The scope can cover the complete deck or a defined part of the design and production work.
The purpose of the deck, its current version, approximate slide count, deadline, branding status and required working format provide a useful starting point. It also helps to know whether structural support, diagrams, data visualisation or reusable templates are required.
Start with what exists
It might be an outline, a rough PowerPoint or a presentation that no longer reflects the quality of the business.
Send the current stage, purpose, approximate slide count and deadline. We will use that information to define the right level of presentation support.
You do not need to make the deck presentable before sharing it. The working version is often the most useful place to begin.
Design-only and structure-plus-design projects are both welcome.
